graduated in 1982. nick worked for 5 years with abwaters in london as a project architect. an interim sabbatical with wheeler associates, los angeles, was followed by the formation of his first practice arcc with two other young london designers before setting up to practice in his own right. as an experienced architect on a wide range of work that also brought him into contact with interests for environmentally sensitive design and humid tropic architecture in west africa and, latterly, sri lanka.

Joseph Fairbairn

joseph is a director at nick shipp architects, with over 15 years’ experience delivering thoughtful, well-crafted architecture across a range of sectors. his early career took him to practices in belfast, glasgow and edinburgh, where he contributed to both uk-based and international projects, gaining a broad design perspective and a strong technical foundation.
he leads the practices use of bim, ensuring a collaborative, efficient workflow that enhances design quality and client understanding. whether developing early concepts or coordinating delivery on site, he combines design sensitivity with a practical, hands-on approach.
Claire Barradell
claire has recently joined nsa to take up the helm of administering the practice. with a strong background in business operations and positive, can-do attitude, claire brings a structured and professional calm to office life.
